SuperDial

AI agents that call insurance payers so staff don't

Our take

SuperDial, founded in 2021 by Stanford classmates Sam Schwager and Harrison Caruthers and originally launched as SuperBill, builds voice AI agents that make outbound administrative calls to insurance payers. The agents dial payers, work through phone trees, sit on hold, and talk to live payer reps to complete eligibility verification, claims follow-up, prior auth status checks, and credentialing, then return structured results. Buyers are medical and dental billing companies, DSOs, MSOs, and larger provider groups whose teams otherwise burn hours per day on payer phone lines.

Since pivoting to voice AI at the end of 2023, SuperDial scaled to tens of thousands of calls per week and seven-figure revenue, with customers reporting 3x cost savings per call and 4x productivity gains. Its June 2025 $15M Series A led by SignalFire (with Slow Ventures, BoxGroup, and Scrub Capital) brought total funding past $20M. Named customers include West Coast Dental, MBW RCM, and CBS Medical Billing. It occupies the payer-facing side of healthcare voice AI, the mirror image of patient-facing vendors like Hyro, and the main buyer question is coverage: how much of your specific payer call mix its agents can complete without human fallback.

What it does

  • Outbound AI calls to payers at scale
  • Benefits and eligibility verification by phone
  • Claims status follow-up and denial research
  • Prior authorization status checks
  • Provider credentialing and data attestation calls
  • Structured call results delivered back to RCM workflows

Where it's strong

  • Attacks a task nobody else wants: hours on hold with payers, with reported 3x cost savings per call and 4x team productivity.
  • Volume is real, with tens of thousands of calls per week and seven-figure revenue within two years of launch.
  • Founders came from the billing side (SuperBill), so the product maps to actual RCM call workflows.

What buyers should weigh

  • It automates phone calls, not the full revenue cycle; you still need systems to act on the call outcomes.
  • Results vary by payer since some phone trees and rep processes resist automation, so pilot on your actual payer mix.
  • Young Series A company, and reference customers skew dental and billing services rather than large health systems.

Latest

In June 2025 SuperDial raised a $15M Series A led by SignalFire, bringing total funding to over $20M.
