pVerify
REST APIs for real-time eligibility and benefits verification
Our take
pVerify, founded in 2006, focuses on the front end of the revenue cycle: verifying that a patient has active coverage and what their benefits actually are before care happens. It offers a portal for manual checks plus more than 140 REST APIs covering real-time eligibility, specialty benefits, insurance discovery, claim status, Medicare checks, and patient estimates. The typical buyer is a healthcare software company or billing organization that embeds the APIs, along with specialty practices that need deeper benefit detail than a clearinghouse 271 gives them.
DoseSpot, backed by PSG Equity, acquired pVerify in 2023, and the two operate as a combined API platform for e-prescribing and patient access. In March 2026 DoseSpot merged with Arrive Health to form Interra Health, putting pVerify inside a larger group spanning prescribing workflows and benefit data. The product continues to win Gartner Digital Markets recognition in the eligibility category, and its position is strongest with developers who want eligibility as a building block rather than a full RCM suite.
What it does
- Real-time eligibility checks across 1,500+ payers
- Specialty-specific benefits parsing (vision, DME, therapy)
- Insurance discovery for unknown or inactive coverage
- Patient estimation and Medicare-specific checks (MBI lookup)
- Claim status and prior authorization support APIs
- Batch eligibility for appointment-day sweeps
Where it's strong
- Developer-first: well-documented APIs make it quick to embed eligibility into your own product.
- Specialty benefit parsing goes deeper than raw 270/271 responses from clearinghouses.
- Now part of PSG-backed DoseSpot, which adds financial stability and a bigger product family.
What buyers should weigh
- It solves front-end verification only; you still need separate tools for claims and denials.
- Named enterprise customer references are thin in public materials.
- Ongoing DoseSpot and Arrive Health consolidation (Interra Health) could shift roadmap priorities.
